WELCOME TO THE MIDDLE LIFFEY
North Kildare Trout & Salmon Anglers Association and the Irish Trout
Fly Fishing Association welcomes you to the 2015 International River
Fly Fishing Championships.
Some people we welcome back, others we welcome for the first time.
We have sadly said goodbye to some people who were involved when
the match was last fished on the Liffey and to them we wish tight lines
in the hereafter.
To all present we wish you a pleasant an enjoyable stay.
Yours in Sport
John Higgins Hon. Sec.

The Gallant North Kildares And the trout no longer play,
By Maurice “POM” Moran We’ll talk around the fire at night,
Of the ones that got away.
I’m a member of the North Kildares, Then to spinning rods and tackle,
A gallant band are we, We’ll fix up all repairs,
Who fish the Liffey “wet” and “dry” For it’s pike we will soon be hunting,
As happy as can be. With the Gallant North Kildares.
We have no time for worries,
Nor have we a time for cares, Aye it’s grand to be fisherman,
Just one big happy family, I’ve been one man and boy,
That’s the Gallant North Kildares And please God I’ll be one,
Until the day I die.
Now we have no time for worries, And when the day I pass away,
For we fish the whole day long, And reach those Golden Stairs,
And as we cast o’er “flat” or “sharp,” I’ll have with me a permit from,
We sing our merry song. The Gallant North Kildares.
And should the weather be unkind,
It doesn’t bother us, Sure I’ll show it to St. Peter,
Or if we have an empty bag, And he’ll see it’s up to date,
We still don’t give a cuss. Then he’ll shake me gently by the hand
But, should we land a “good un” Inside the Golden Gate.
We’ll say thank you in our prayers, And ‘tis there I know we’ll sit and talk,
And sing “Hi-Ho”as home we go. Of trout and pike affairs,
That’s the Gallant North Kildares With other long gone members,
Of the Gallant North Kildares.
Then when the evening shorten,
