EPSILON GAMMA OMEGA PRESENTS THIRTY-FIVE

GALAXIES OF BEAUTY

Epsilon Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

hosted their 62nd Debutante Presentation and Ball at the beautifully
decorated Von Braun Civic Center. This year’s debutante theme is “A
Galaxy of Opulent Beauty". Thirty-five beautiful young ladies were

presented to society in front of more than 700 family, friends and special
guests. Soror Cheryl R. Davis, Basileus, welcomed all in attendance and
introduced Dr. Terrance Vickerstaff and Soror Erica Washington as the
distinguished presenters of this year’s thirty-five debutantes. As part of the

special evening, participants performed a modern waltz with their escorts,
choreographed by Soror Angela Wilson. The Debutante Presentation and
Ball was the culmination of activities, which was comprised of educational,

cultural, community service projects, hobby talent showcase, digital
scrapbooking and social functions. The recipients of this year’s educational
scholarships were Miss Kristin Smith, $6,000; Miss Nevaeh Eggleston,
$5,000; Miss Jada Owens, $4,000; Miss Aja Yarborough, $3,000 HBCU;

Miss China Green, $5,000 HBCU; Miss Raven Carter, $1,500 HBCU; and
Miss Kaitlen Walker, $500. Ball Chairman, Soror Cynthia Massey, and Co-
Chairman, Soror Margaret Smith presented bracelets to each of the

debutantes. A toast given by Representative Anthony Daniels followed the
night’s cotillion dance. After the toast, the debutantes and presenters had
their first dance.
