To protect from the coming cold, layers have also been
frequently seen this season, layering crop tops with
boyfriends shirts, or knit sweaters on a white collared
shirt with the collar peeking out, shaping the new 'peek-
a-boo' trend. In addition to this, long sleeves and
waistband tights styled under jumpers and skirts made
numerous appearances lately. Not only clothes but
accessories too are being layered on top of each other,
especially all kinds of necklaces and chains that continue
to be in trend. Gathering, ruching and draping are a
grecian inspired looks that have become more favored
on the runways this fall. As it’s finally getting colder, this
trend is the warmest one of all - puffer jackets. XXL
puffers are oversized, double stuffed with styles in
various patterns and tints, seen everywhere protecting
us from frostbite. As an accessory or an individual piece,
both colourful and calmer blanket-sized scarfs are in for
the ride this fall, forming a cozy yet stylish look.
For a more luxurious look, all white is in season; not only
for labor day it seems but a monochrome fit can scream
elegance for a day-to-day look. The LBC, long black coat,
trend is one of the quiet luxury looks, in oppose to
displays of wealth via big logos (popular in 2015),
concentrating on a more subtle, glamorous, powerful
and mature look. Grey, navy, red and black would be your
go to in this situation. A laid-back blazer or one of the
runway-hitting tailored power suits could also prove
useful for this trend. Laid-back suiting, black tie, tuxedos,
strapless vests and wide leg pants give a business air to
the look - versatile grey coats from Coperni Femme,
Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Ferragamo and Max Mara have
appeared regularly.
All denim is finally in, although having backlash in prior
years. No matter if it's a mini dress, denim skirt, or the old
fashioned mom jeans, denim in general, especially
darker or gray denim, is trending.
Black leather mixed and matched is in for this season,
potentially matched with watercolor tie dye clothes, yet
also in favor for the motorcycle, checkered patterns, car
inspired looks. For the goth girls 2023 fall will prove to be
a change as the soft goth looks inspired by the
Wednesday Addams series have become a trend with the
return of the classic, timeless black smokey eye. To spice
things up a bit, metallic leggings have been seen on Kim
Kardashian proving metallics came back this time of year
as they usually do with the increase of parties. But this
time it’s all about the right quantity and placement of the
shimmer. Full liquid from head to toe, also came back for
the special occasions.
Clothes are the foundation and uniqueness of
ones style, however accessories are what
elevate one's look and tie the outfit together.
Waist details have been frequently seen in
New York to London, even Paris with peplums
that exaggerate the hourglass silhouette.
Brandon Maxwell and Tory Burch have
collections dedicated to this trend. To achieve
a similar look, one can wear peplum shirts,
giving a more minimal look. For the perfect
carrying accessory to ones outfits, bags of all
sized are everywhere from totes to handbags
or clutches to purses by Ferragamo, Loewe, Jil
Sander and Balmain. Having one's essential
on them can be made chic and trendy.
This season has
definitely given fall an
interesting ring to it.
