Women’s
Fashion 2023
Fall
Our classic beloved 'back to school' look inspired by Gossip
Girl is trending this season consisting of an oversized blazer
with a mini skirt, accompanied by some chunky loafers and
the perfect accessories - a headband to give it the ‘90 look or
some vintage sunnies. The appropriate addition of a black tie
added in cases like these could shape the staple look of this
fall. Evolving from menswear, the black tie has been turned
from simply formal into a rebellious women’s boss look,
demonstrated exquisitely by Maria Grazia Chiuri in one of
her fall collections incorporating a slim black tie matched
with a white shirt, full skirt and mary jane shoes.
However, the trendiest addition of autumn 2023 must be the
loose, comfortable style with comfortable plush/knit
cardigans or sweaters, loose fit jeans and dad sneakers.
Bigger pants such as cargo pants, carpenter jeans, balloon
pants, wide leg pants, sailor jeans or even straight-fit from
the ‘90 are back in full force, having become a staple piece for
the trendiest street-wear style. To contrast the large
bottoms, a small shirt, corset, satin tube top or tank top is
matched, accompanied with a belt and some gold jewelry,
creating the perfect balanced yet comfortable fall look. Low-
waist belts slung low sometimes accessorized with studs or
gems have come back too, reviving the famous 'bling'
popularized in the 90's. To keep out the cold encroaching this
fall, one can drape a hoodie or a cardigan over one's
shoulders, wearing it as an accessory which also serves for
warmth - this addition is inspired by the summery 'old-
money' look. As Bella Hadid has proven, an oversized polo
shirt can act as the perfect dress for the remains of the
summer heat.
It is known that decennial styles inevitably
circulate, so for the vintage girls the classic
90's look frequently worn by Kendall
Jenner is in, consisting of vintage
cardigans with long line jeans and some
vintage Gucci sunnies. Tweed dresses, with
an additional choker to make the look
appear more edgier are here, including
plaid for a timeless punk rock vibe seen
paired with some Dr Marten boots on
Olivia Rodrigo. Along with that, sheer
continues to this year's fall, the revealing
fabric generally made of lace, mesh or
sheer makes the undergarments and
lingerie visible. This look made a statement
in 2008 and has since been seen numerous
times in major fashion campaign’s. Sheer
originates from the 18th century, yet it isn’t
the only fashion piece from history that is
trending this season, laced-up looks that
come from the victorian era are back,
widely used as corsets worn with high rise
jeans or pleated pants from Loewe with
some tan loafers.
