Ranger/Naturalist Manual
This manual provides the Open Space and Mountain Parks Department’s ranger/naturalist staff
guidance to address various aspects of their jobs while serving their community. The information
applies to both experienced and new ranger/naturalists (referred to as “rangers” throughout this
manual).
This manual also provides the public and other OSMP Department staff members a reference guide
into the work rangers do on a daily basis to provide for our visitors’ safety and enjoyment and to
protect our natural resources.
