THE ISRAELI S GATH    THE MANNA
another, "Manhuf" which means, "What is this?" For they did not know what it was.
''This is bread,'' said Moses, ''which the Lord hath given you to eat. Let everyone gather enough to eat for one day.''
Everyone gathered in the morning as much as he needed. The rest melted when the sun grew hot.
The Israelites called this food manna. It was white like the seed of a little  ower, and it tasted like  our and honey. The Children of Israel ate this manna until they reached the borders of the Land of Chanaan. Every morning they gathered as much as they needed for the day. They were told to gather neither more
