procession. The prists followed. The tribes of Juda, Issachar, and Zabulon were next in line. Next were the wagons carrying the material of the Tabernacle. The tribes of Ruben, Simeon, and Gad followed. Then came the Levites, carrying the sacred furniture of the Tabernacle. The remaining six tribes marched in the following order: Ephraim, Manasses, Benjamin, Dan, Aser, ephtali.
After a march of about three days, the Israelites were tired and began to murmur against the Lord. God sent down re which destroyed many of them and caused the rest to repent. At the prayer of Moses the re was taken away.

cause they had no fresh meat to eat. The Lord sent a strong wind which carried a great number of quail
into the camp and this restored peace for a time. But soon a new revolt occurred. Even his sister, Miriam, and his brother, Aaron, the high priest, rebelled against Moses. God punished Miriam for her sin by striking her with leprosy, which lasted for seven days.
For a while after this, there was peace among the people. The Israelites marched on toward the Prom ised Land, and at last reached Cades on the border of Chanaan.
