to explore the Promised Land. In the presence of Eleazar, the high priest, Moses placed his hands upon Josue, to show that from that time he was the civil and military leader of the Israelites. By God's command Eleazar was the high priest and leader in religious matters.
God foretold to Moses the time when he was to die. After blessing the Israelites, Moses went up alone to the top of Mount Nebo. From this mountain God showed him the Promised Land. When Moses saw it, he rejoiced. Here at the ripe old age of one hundred and twenty years, full of gratitude to God, he died. God's angels buried him, but the spot no one knows. God hid the grave of Moses from the Israelites for fear
