soldiers to victory in every battle. Now he divided the spoils among them and settled down to a peaceful life at Thamnath Saraa for the rest of his days. He assembled the people at Sichem and exhorted them to observe the law and to avoid idolatry. He died at the age of one hundred and ten years. Eleazar also died shortly afterwards and was succeeded as high priest by his son Phinees. The bones of Joseph which the Israelites had brought from Egypt were buried at Sichem in Jacob's eld.
