THE VISION OF THE PROPHET EZECHIEL
destruction of Jerusalem and the great su ering of the people. The heart of Jeremias is bowed· down with grief and loneliness, yet he does not lose his hope in God. He knows that the day will come when God will deliver His people from bondage. The Church makes use of the Lamentations of Jeremias in the Tenebrae of Holy Week, to picture for us the terrible su erings of our blessed Savior.
Ezechiel was among those who had been carried The  phet

He addresses his message not only to the Jews who
were left behind in Jerusalem, but also to those who
