Before leaving Unit Five, test yourself with the following exercises:
I. Be able to tell the stories contained in Unit Five.
II. Make a list of the names of the good people about whom you have read in Unit Five.
III. Write a short theme abo the four whom you admire most.
IV. Discuss the following:
1. Jeremias' work for the Israelites.
2. How the Israelites treated Jeremias.
3. The hiding of the Ark of the Covenant.
4. The innocent Susanna saved from her enemies.
5. The return of the Jews after their captivity.
6. How Esther saved her people.
7. The persecution of Antiochus.
8. The Machabees' defense of their country.
9. How the scepter passed from the hands of the Jews.
V. Compare the life of Daniel in Babylon with the life of Tobias in Ninive.
VI. Prepare a talk in which you show that the Jews were patriotic and kept the knowledge of the true God while they were captives.
VII. Write a short story of the Machabees.
VIII. Make a map and show on it: Egypt, Babylon, Jerusalem, Samaria, Mt. Garizim, Mt. Nebo, and the Mountain of Modin.
IX. Complete your history of the Old Testament in pictures by adding your collection of Unit Five to your scrapbook.
