CHRIST PREPARES TO REDEEM THE WORLD
THE BAPTIS OF JESUS
the Messias, John said to Him, "I ought to be baptized by Thee, and dost Thou come to me?" Jesus ex­ plained to John that He must be baptized because it was part of God's plan for redeeming the human race. Humbly John obeyed, and baptized the Savior of the world.
When Jesus came out of the water, the heavens were opened and the Holy Spirit came down upon Him in the form of a dove. A voice from Heaven was heard, saying, '' This is My beloved Son, in Whom I am we pleased. Hear ye Him.''
