Unit Eight
HOW CHRIST REDEEMED THE WORLD AND RETURNED TO HEAVEN
By His holy life and by His miracles, Christ has proven that He is the Son of God. He has in­ structed the people concerning the Kingdom of Heaven, then told them what they must do to be saved. Now He performs the nal great act by means of which the world is redeemed. In this Unit we shall learn how Jesus su ered and died for our sins. We shall see how He o ered Himself up on the altar of the cross and died that we might have life.
We shall behold Him rising gloriously from the tomb and appearing to His apostles and disciples. He remains on earth forty days and then ascends into Heaven. We shall see how He sends the Holy Ghost upon His Church, to remain with her all days, so that she may have the light and strength to carry on the work of redemption unto the end of the world.
