Any linear equation can be rearranged into standard form. Put both variables and their coefficients on one side of the equal sign and the constants on the other side.
Using Standard Form to Graph
Write the equation y = -_2 x + 5 in standard form. Then graph the equation 3

Write the equation in standard form.

To find the x-intercept, substitute 0 for y and solve for x. _2 x + y = 5
