   Final arrangements
After they have passed, you will need to decide how you would like to take care of your pet’s body, and possibly make other choices around remembrance.
You usually have several choices in how to care for your pet’s body; depending on where you live, these normally include burial and cremation. Burial could be on your own land if this is permitted, or in a pet cemetery; cremation options can include communal cremation or private cremation. If the latter is chosen, you have the option of your pet’s ashes being returned to you. You can read more about these choices on www.compassionunderstood.com. Your vet will also be able to guide you.
MY CHOICE FOR MY PET’S ARRANGEMENTS:
1. Burial:
at home
at a pet cemetery
at a friend or relative’s home elsewhere
               THINGS TO CONSIDER:
Will this place permit pet burials? Will you always live in this area or have access to the burial ground? Do you have any religious preferences you would like to take into account? Would you like a casket to bury your pet? What special items might you like to bury with your pet?
