DOWNSIZING FROM
MARIN TO THE WINE COUNTRY?
Julie Leitzell and the Golden Gate Sotheby’s Team: Your Marin to Sonoma Real Estate Connection May 2018
The Wine Country Market
As in the rest of the Bay Area, the Sonoma Valley has experi-
enced a slower than usual fall real estate market. On the follow-
ing page, I compare this fall to the fall of 2016, because the
2017 numbers were impacted by the fires. Looking at a price
range of $650K to $1.5, you can see that this year, the number In This Issue
of homes for sale rose dramatically in October (light green bars) Market charts
and the number of closed sales is half the number of 2016
sales. (dark green) A sneak peek of November numbers shows Deals of the Season
that the average price per square foot is almost back down to EVENTS!
where it was 2 years ago in the wine country. Buyers may see it Contact Information
as a buying opportunity, or perhaps a long-awaited correction in
the market. Whether buying or selling, my advice to my non-
investment clients is the same. It’s a home, not a commodity.
