After discovering and screening clinical need from simulated clinical scenarios in the Center for Advanced Pediatric & Perinatal (CAPE) of Lucile Packard Children’s hospital at Stanford during the d.school class, designing for safety in labor & delivery, our team came up with a headwear-based wearable sensor to tackle the problem of unexpected vital sign change and life-threatening event in the labor and delivery floor and provisional patent has been filed after the class.
