“I was commissioned for this shoot by Boyne Golf USA to shoot 8 of their 10 courses. The plan was that I would spend 1 day at each course, which meant I had to schedule at least two weeks to be in Northern Michigan to allow for any potential weather delays. As it turned out, we got phenomenal weather and I was able to complete the shoot in 9 days. To gain the necessary elevation we incorporated ladders, lifts and a drone in the shoot. The highlight of the trip was attaching my Hasselblad H3D-50 to a drone built and operated by Aerial Imagery Works out of Detroit. I don’t believe that’s ever been done before and it allowed us to capture some amazing shots, including this late afternoon image of the 7th of The Links at Bay Harbor Golf Club. Those dark clouds you see formed suddenly and helped to create this dramatic scene.” —Evan Schiller
