12th Hole, Royal Oaks Country Club
Captured from a 40ft lift with a Hasselblad H3D-50
“After an extensive redo by architect Chet Williams of all the bunkers and greens I was commissioned by the club to photograph the renovations. Royal Oaks Country Club in Dallas is a fairly flat golf course so we decided to employ a lift to gain some elevation. I wanted to be able to capture this late day image of the 12th hole from over the teeing area and include the river, wall and those two trees to the right. The only way to achieve this perspective was to extend the 40 foot lift out over the teeing area as far as it would go so that I could get as close to the water as possible. In the end, it was my favorite image of the shoot.” —Evan Schiller
