One day, a handcuffed terrorist accompanied by policemen, was
brought to our clinic for medical treatment. After treating him appro-
priately, I was bitterly assailed by the members of the public present
in the clinic for my lack of conscience and morals. Please clarify for
me how the Torah views providing medical treatment to this type of
enemy.

It was recently publicized that an Arab woman, a resident of Gaza,
brought her son to the hospital in Ashkelon for eye surgery. When
transferring him to the hospital personnel for treatment, she re-
marked in Arabic, “Let them take care of you my child so that you
will be able to see and be able to throw stones at the Jews!” When her
words were translated for the physician, he said, “I am not prepared
to treat this case,” for he felt that he would be endangering his own
