140 The Best Keywords for Resumes, Letters, and Interviews

    Keyword Answers to Interview Questions

 Tell me about yourself.

I’m your typical elementary school teacher with a most atypical approach to
classroom management, curriculum development, student learning, and, most
importantly, learner retention. I pride myself on my ability to design innovative
educational programs that spark my students’ interest and encourage them to
      experience the world.

What’s more, I am active throughout the school community, working with the
PTA, the media resources committee, the annual fundraising campaign, and the
textbook review committee. In addition, I coordinate special event programs,
guest speakers, and field trips for the entire elementary school.

What is the most valuable skill you bring to our school?

My most valuable skill is my love for my children. Shouldn’t that be at the heart
of every teacher? I find tremendous personal and professional satisfaction from
      watching my children learn.

It is this commitment to my students, along with my outstanding teaching skills,
that will make me a valuable and immediate contributor to your school’s com-
      munity, students, teachers, and administrators.

What is your most significant achievement?

Nurturing parental involvement in the classroom is what I consider to be my
most notable contribution. When I first came to Rodgers Elementary, none of the
parents of my third-grade students ever spent any time at school. So, I launched
a plan to encourage my parents to participate in whatever ways possible.

Today I have, at minimum, two parent volunteers in the classroom each day,
another group working on the end-of-year celebration, two parents who write
and distribute a monthly classroom newsletter, and many other volunteers. Par-
ent involvement has created a truly positive learning environment for all of my
students—and the parents love it, too!
