Like many regions, German wine makers have had their struggles with reputation. In this instance I blame my father’s generation. In the 1960’s and 70’s German Riesling with names such as Blue Nun and Black Tower were massively consumed by the younger generations. These wines, if you can call them that, were terribly sweet and terribly cheap! Fortunately, you won’t find this awful wine at MySomm but rather some beautifully precise dry style Rieslings from this wonderful wine making country.
