1. Past Simple ใช้กับเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้น และจบแล้ว เช่น He

spoke, Somsri lived in Chon Buri ten years ago

2. Past Continuous ใช้กับ 2 เหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นไม่พร้อมกัน

While he was walking along the street, he saw

an accident.

3. Past Perfect ใช้กับ2 เหตุการณ์ในอดีตและสิ้นสุดแล้ว เช่น He

went out for a walk after he had eaten dinner.

4. Past Perfect Continuous ใช้เหมือน Past Perfect แต่

มีการเน้นความต่อเนื่องของเวลาได้ดีกว่า เช่น He had slept for

3 hours when we called on him.
