PREFACE
There is nothing like hearing the words, you have cancer. Then to hear those words
followed up by, and it's either the good kind or the bad (terminal) kind. Now, imagine
that the only way to know for sure, is to potentially put yourself at additional
risk (though small), to find out which one you have. Or do you live with the
unknown. That's a decision I had to make.
Because Choroidal Eye Melanoma is rare (only 6 in 1 million are diagnosed
with it) there aren't many people out there that have gone through this
experience. That can leave you feeling alone and in a dark place, especially
when you're trying to look for help on what to expect.
The purpose of this blog is to bring awareness and helpful information into the
darkness of Choroidal Eye Melanoma. I also want to bring light and love to
others going through this, or any cancer for that matter. Cancer is no joke and
you can find yourself in a black hole filled with fear very quickly.
Whether you're experiencing this yourself or you have a friend or family going
through something like this, I want to bring a positive story to light your
way. There's something to be said about having someone, help guide you,
who's walked through the same experience of a rare cancer. I've been
there.
Remember, this is your experience and no one else's. How you move through
it, is your choice. You can make it what you want. Don't get me wrong, there
are definitely days with tears and fears, but it's how you walk through those
moments that defines your journey.
I chose to have a positive attitude, as much as I could. I also wanted to make
sure I was living every moment with as much love and magic as possible, to
help me heal.
It's my goal to bring you as much light and love as possible through my
journey. I also want to share things I did, to help me through it. This is my
journey. May it light your way and bring you some peace. Never forget... you
are not alone. I am here with you, sending lots of love and magic your way.
