St. Thomas Aquinas
Leicester Catholics founded St. Thomas Aquinas in 1897. That year the present church – which once served as the worship site of a Baptist congregation – was dedicated by Bishop McQuaid. In 1916, Father Herman Shafer was appointed as the rst resident pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas.
