Good Shepherd was founded in 1911, and pastor Father John B. Kleintjes celebrated the parish’s rst Mass on July 16, 1911, in the 240-seat church. A 700-seat basement chapel was added to the parish in 1964. As more people moved into the Henrietta area in the 1960s, the parish grew. A second church, Guardian Angels, was established in 1960. Bishop James E. Kearney blessed the new church on May 26, 1963
Good Sheperd
The three churches became a cluster, known as the Rush Henrietta Catholic Community, in June 2010. Two years later, the three churches became one parish, assuming the name of the newly canonized St. Marianne Cope, a sister of the Third Order of St. Francis in the neighboring Diocese of Syracuse who in 1888 founded a home for female lepers in Hawaii.
