St. Paul’S cHurcH
A Webster restaurant/party house served as the rst worship space for the St. Paul’s community, which was established in 1967
by Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen to alleviate crowds
attending Holy Trinity and St. Rita’s churches in Webster.
Sweet’s Farm, located on Holt Road, provided a temporary home for the new parish’s 300 families, and Father John T. Walsh was named the parish’s rst pastor. The parish was named to link it with St. Paul the Apostle and Pope Paul VI,
who was pontiff at the time.
In the late 1960s the Kamienski family donated land at 783 Hard Road to be used as a permanent site for St. Paul’s Church, and in May 1970, Father Walsh celebrated the rst Mass in the edi ce, which was designed and constructed by parishioners.
In 1988. Father Raymond Booth became the parish’s second pastor. During his tenure, the church underwent a $1.5 million renovation, which included relocating the sanctuary.
The parish celebrated its 50th anniversary in June 2017.
