St. Peter’S PariSH
St. Peter’s Parish was formed through the 2012 merger of St. Felix in Clifton Springs, St. Francis in Phelps and St. Dominic in Shortsville.
The three churches began working together as a cluster in the 1990s but have been linked in
various ways since their earliest days.
The parish that eventually became St. Felix was founded in 1855, with Father Patrick Lee as pastor. The Clifton Springs parish, originally known as St. Agnes, outgrew its rst church building. A new church was built, and after its dedication by Bishop Bernard J. McQuaid in 1896, its name was changed to St. Felix in honor of the parish’s pastor, Father Felix O’Hanlon.
