St. Charles Borromeo, located in the village of Elmira Heights, was begun in 1897 with Father William Dunn as the inaugural pastor. In 1905, the rst church opened on Grand Central Avenue, and in 1935 St. Charles became a full- edged parish. Its current church was dedicated in 1960 by Bishop James E. Kearney.
