Slave Trade is Not a Thing of the Past
Standing almost naked in a single small
rag with a rope around your neck on a stage in
front of hundreds of people. The people are
bidding on you with the man next to you calling
count numbers in his loud deep voice. Then all of
a sudden the man yells SOLD. A white man walks
on the stage and takes you away by the tight
rope around your neck. Then you and the man
walk past your friends and family without
stopping. The man walks towards his buggy
where he puts you in the back and drives away.
This is just a normal slave auction in the 1800s.
Over 30 million people today are in slavery
due to them getting sold into it. Back then there
was many slave trades and many ways it happen.

sold into it, but the biggest way was on boats.
They would pack in about a couple of thousand
slaves and take them into slavery just in a couple
of hours. Slavery has been around for hundreds
of thousands of years. According to (Steven) ?over
the period of the Atlantic slave trade, from
approximately 1526 to 1867 , some 12.5 million
slaves has been shipped.?
What is Slave Trade?
Let's start by just defining slave trade
which is the capturing, selling, and buying of
slaves. Slavery has existed throughout the world
since ancient times. Slaves were taken from the
Slavs and Iranians from past to the 19th century,
from the sub Saharan Africans from the 1st
century CE to the mid-20th century, and from the
the Viking era.
In Africa, women and children but not men
were wanted as slaves for labour and for other
reason. The year 1500, captive men were taken to
the coast and sold to Europeans. That was just
one of the most known slave trade probably in the
world, but there are more slave trades in the
world during that time period so about 100
million people
Effect of Slave Trading
Slave trading is a huge thing that was back when
George Washington was our president to present
day and even further back in history. There are
huge effects that slave trading had on everyone,
especially the economy. They sold slaves and got
them to fill jobs
in that they
needed without
seeing any
problems with it.

homes, crushed hopes and broken hearts was the
sad story to be read in all the anxious faces.?Slave
trade began in the 15th century, after the
Portuguese started exploring the coast of West
Africa. At first the number of enslaved Africans
taken was small. In about 1650, however, with the
development of plantations on the newly
colonized Caribbean islands and American
mainland, the trade grew.
