Above: Osmaston Hall was rebuilt in 1696 by Robert Wilmot (who served as MP
for Derby between 1690 and 1695). The landscaped gardens included an impressive
lake. The site on which Osmaston Hall stood is now occupied by the Ascot Drive
industrial estate.
Below: Close to Osmaston Hall was the Church of St James the Lesser, which was
originally built after the Norman conquest. The church was restored in 1878 when
a vestry was added and a new roof was fitted.
