9- Night Escorted Tour
Day 1: Arrive in Edinburgh
Arrive in Edinburgh today. Transfer to your hotel, where you are free to enjoy the
beautiful city on your own.
Day 2: Islay
Depart Edinburgh at 8:30 am. Leaving Edinburgh you will head west to Stirling and into
the Highlands with a short stop in the holiday town of Callander for refreshments. After
traveling through the mountainous northern part of the Loch Lomond National Park you
will arrive in the busy harbour town of Oban. You will then depart Oban mid-afternoon
for the journey to Kennacraig to catch the evening ferry to Islay. On arrival on Islay it is a
short drive to Bowmore for your three (3) night stay.
Day 3: A full day exploring Islay
A full day exploring Islay. The itinerary today is quite flexible. In the morning you will take
the short drive to the west of the island via Saligo Bay for a visit to Kilchoman Distillery
(the newest and smallest on the island) with the option of a coastal walk to Machair
Bay for any non-whiskey lovers. After lunch you will explore the tiny harbor village of
Portnahaven (look out for seals) before taking the back roads along the west coast with
its lovely sandy bays, on the way back to Bowmore. Alternatively - for those who want to
visit another distillery we will be able to drop you off at Bruichladdich for a tasting and
visit to the shop. You will have the chance to visit Bowmore Distillery or just relax and
explore the village.

Day 4: Touring INCLUSIONS
Today you will explore the southern side of the island, home to the
smokiest and peatiest of all whiskies - Laphroaig, Lagavulin and
Ardbeg. You will visit Ardbeg for a tour, tasting and lunch. You will then • 9-nights accommodations
either visit the ruins of Kidalton Church or the Islay House Square. • Breakfast daily (except for morning of arrival, continental self-service at the
Bowmore Cottages)
Day 5: Edinburgh • Arrival and departure transfers in Edinburgh

Day 6: Edinburgh
Enjoy an independent day in Edinburgh, where we will overnight. HOTELS OR SIMILAR
Day 7: Speyside Whisky* (You will make your own way to dep.point)
Depart Edinburgh and head north, with a stop at Dunkeld, and onto Edinburgh: Based on Jurys Inn (4 nights)
Pitlochry for lunch. then travel to Dalwhinnie, and onto the small town of Islay: Bowmore Cottages (3 nights)
Grantown on Spey where we will overnight. Grantown-on-Spey: Your choice of B&B or 3* Hotel (2 nights)
Day 8: Touring
Today we spend the day exploring Scotland’s most famous whisky
region. We take a scenic drive towards the coast, with a stop at a

distillery. We travel to Elgin for lunch and back up Spey Valley with stops 2019 T
along the way. Overnight in Grantown on Spey.
Day 9: Touring - Edinburgh PRICES ARE LAND ONLY - PER PERSON, BASED ON TWO PASSENGERS
Travel through the beautiful Cairngorm Mountains on route back to SHARING A TWIN/DOUBLE ROOM. SINGLE SUPPLEMENT WILL APPLY.
