We stopped at a gas station and called to arrange for someone to come pick us up. Since I also wanted to have the delivery experience, I figured “let’s turn this situation into an opportunity.” I made a call to my insurance company to utilize my roadside service part of my policy while we waited to be picked up. It took about 30-45 minutes to find a flatbed that was willing to pick up the Cayman and bring it the last 60 miles of the trip. They were busy and it would take several hours before they would be able to assist. We were picked up by my brother-in-law and he taxied us back home. T had done more than enough to help on this journey and he headed home. I borrowed my parents SUV and made my way back south to meet the flatbed and get the Cayman loaded. A few more hours of driving, and some driveway snow shoveling later, the flatbed showed up at the house, and the Cayman was unloaded straight into the garage, tucked in nice and warm against Mother Nature’s fury around 10:00 PM on Sunday night. Not a bad ending to a somewhat questionable day, but a great end to a fantastic weekend. The journey ended with no major incidents, and I could get some sleep before heading to work the next day. I got the opportunity to learn my new car over the course of two days seeing some fantastic scenery on Saturday, and got the “delivery” experience on Sunday thanks to Mother Nature. The best part was the chance to share the experience with a good friend and fellow Porsche fan. Thank you T, for taking the time out of your life to help me out and join me on this journey. I truly appreciate it and enjoyed the adventure. I am honored to call you a friend. - Mike Der Sportwagen 35
