HERE IS CYLINDER 4,
WHICH IS VERY CLOSE
TO THE HOLE IN THE
FRONT OF THE ENGINE
WE PASS THE TOOL
THROUGH.
See Picture 9
While still firmly holding the tube against the piston, remove the rod from the tube and set aside. Now grab your borescope and insert it in the tube and verify your wrist
pin clip is inserted properly. It is hard to make out in the picture, but at the bottom
of the screen you can see the black edge of the tube (you can slowly spin the tube if you need help verifying which part is the tube,
as it will give you good relation to the other structures). Then the thick silver area is the edge of the piston, and the slight black gap then shiny silver piece is the wrist pin clip sitting properly in the groove. It isn’t nearly as easy as I might make it sound ;) Once you have verified the clip is sitting properly, you will repeat for cylinder 5 then 4 in that order. If the wrist pin clip is not seated properly, there are a couple methods that you can use to get it back out of the engine, which is why we are holding the tube firmly against the piston to keep it from falling into the engine. With the tube still holding it in that area, you have a possibility of fishing it back out, but I don’t reveal all my secrets.
See Picture 10
Working our way out to the other two cylinders.
