IN 2019, WE TOOK THE NEW TARGA ON WHAT WE CALLED OUR TEXAS REUNION ROAD TRIP. IN 10 DAYS, WE HIT DALLAS, WACO, BOERNE (SAN ANTONIO AREA), MCALLEN, HOUSTON, MCKINNEY AND BACK HOME TO OVERLAND PARK.

were able to pack everything we needed into the car (except my golf clubs – which were covered for by a borrowed set). I have the same unresolved dream as many of you to be able to order a new Porsche to my specs, pick it up at the factory in Zuffenhausen and drive it around Germany, Switzerland and Italy. Unfortunately, that may never happen, but I am more than pleased with the ones I have.

UPGRADE?
Someday I must replace the driver side rear quarter panel to continue the life long effort to chase and eliminate rust. They didn’t dip (galvanize) car bodies in 1973 and my car’s first year (as my everyday driver) was spent in Lansing, MI, where they seemed to have an unlimited supply of salt for the winter roads. The 2015 is perfect just the way it is!!!
9FAVORITE CAR ADVENTURE?
  In 2019, we took the new Targa on what we called our Texas reunion road trip. In 10 days, we hit Dallas, Waco, Boerne (San Antonio area), McAllen, Houston, McKinney and back home to Overland Park. We visited/stayed with friends in each of those Texas cities and visited some old “growing up” places for me.
