INTRODUCTION

This book has been created from a series of ten talks that Ed
Miller gave in October 2018 at a conference in France, to a group of
hungry Christians seeking an ever growing and closer relationship
with Jesus Christ. They requested that he speak on what he believed
to be ten of the primary foundational principles on living the
Christian life. These are the ones that Ed prayerfully chose to speak
on at this conference.

I have chosen to maintain, for the most part, the word by
word transcription of these talks. Minor editing was used to omit
redundancy and long sentences or to help with grammar. I think
Ed’s personality, dry sense of humor and interesting terms of speech
shine through by endeavoring to stick to the original transcript.
“What I Long to Communicate” at the beginning of each chapter has
been taken from his outline.

The title, “Back to Bethlehem” came from Ed’s former
message on the Book of Ruth. “Ten Foundational Principles”
sounded rather cold and academic, so, I felt the edited excerpt from
Ruth in the Prologue might prepare us to see in picture form why
our foundation in Jesus is so continually important.
