age and say, “I’m getting old and I’ve lost a lot. I’m losing ground.”
Oh no, I’m getting closer. I’m gaining ground. I’m heading for a
jubilee. The closer I get to jubilee, the less value I give to the
material world. Jesus Christ is our Jubilee!

That’s Ephesians 2:1-7, and three fold salvation. What He has
done and where I am. What’s coming to me down the road.
Let’s look at 3:10 and ask the question, “How does God do all of
this?” The answer from 3:10 is, “creative grace”. We are His
creation, created in Christ Jesus. It took a creation of God to
make it possible. He creates me, and He creates you. Your
Christian life is as much a creation of God as the trees, the
valleys, the mountains, the seas, the flowers, the fish and birds.
That’s God’s creation, and so is your Christian life. We needed
“fiat”, an official order given by someone who has the power and
authority to make it so. We needed a “Let there be light”
experience.

We needed God to do it…….. and He did!

Chapter 13 Saved by Faith 2:8-9

Let me drive home the truth from verses 8 & 9,

“By grace you have been saved through faith and that not of
yourselves; it’s a gift of God, not of works or the result of
works, that no one should boast”.

These two verses have become loved and made famous among
God’s people. Usually they are used to show the unconverted
sinner that he can’t lift a finger to get his own salvation. “It’s not
by works, that any man should boast.” God is the One Who
