The Drama Masterclass trip
– was to see A Christmas Carol...With a Difference at Wilton’s Grand Music Hall in London’s East End, the oldest music hall still performing in the world. This really was a different Christmas Carol, with the main protagonist replaced by Scrooge’s sister, Marley’s widow. All
the other familiar themes, characters and ghosts were there too, but the play brought us forward into our own times, with an interesting portrayal
of the role of women in modern life. The nineteenth century theatre had an amazing Dickensian atmosphere,
which enhanced our enjoyment and appreciation.
Adventure Boyz – The blockbuster family film Adventure Boyz, starring St Andrew’s Prep brothers Rory and Felix Ford was filmed at various locations in and around Eastbourne
and notably on-site at St Andrew’s
Prep and Eastbourne College.The
film received rave reviews across the industry, achieving the highest possible rating on IMDB.com, the world’s number one movie website.The film
is now streaming on more than 100 platforms across the UK, the USA
and Canada. The film was shot by Hollywood director and multi-award winner Howard J Ford who also stars in the film while Howard’s wife, Alicia, was co-producer. Howard and Alicia also happen to be Rory and Felix’s parents and Alicia is Head of Learning Support at St Andrew’s! With a very experienced supporting cast including Jon Campling, Harry Potter’s Death Eater, Adventure Boyz also features some of the boys’ friends from school in a number of scenes.

My favourite place in the school is the stage. I have so many happy memories of productions and fun activities that we did in drama.
I remember learning how to do the lights for the Little Mermaid. It was really interesting.
