 VICKS CAMPION
Vicks took up the post of Senior Sister and Colstocks Matron in September 2019. With 25 years of nursing under her belt, she was able to bring much experience to her role. Following qualifying she worked in a trauma unit
in London, before moving to Zimbabwe to work as a flight nurse on the Air
Ambulance. In 2002,Vicks returned to the UK and took up the post of Senior Sister at the Dragon School in Oxford, where she ran a busy medical centre for 12 years. In 2014 she became a Practice Nurse in a large, doctor’s surgery in Oxford. After five years, she decided to move with her 11 year old daughter and cocker spaniel to the Sunshine Coast to take up the post at St. Andrew’s. Her holidays are spent in Cornwall where she and her daughter can be found enjoying all activities the sea and sand can offer.
BETHANY EWEN-FIRMAN
Bethany was excited to join St Andrew’s Prep having been a former pupil of the school and Eastbourne College. Bethany studied for her undergraduate degree of History and Ancient History at the University
of Nottingham before
continuing her studies at the
University of Sussex with an
MA in Intellectual History
and PGCE in Classics with History. Bethany spent three years in a local secondary school as LeadTeacher for Classics, introducing Latin and Ancient History to the curriculum. One of Bethany’s core values is to help children engage with the ancient world and its languages while having as much fun
as possible. Bethany enjoys being involved in co-curricular elements of the school such as Zumba and Hockey. In her spare time, Bethany enjoys baking, playing golf, travelling and spending time in America with friends and family.
SHEREEN HASSAN
Shereen joined us as the
Year 1 teacher covering
Mrs Tomsett’s maternity
leave. She has 10 years
prior experience as an
EarlyYears and Key Stage 1
teacher. Prior to her arrival
at St Andrew’s, Shereen
worked abroad in Qatar in
the Middle East. She stayed
there for six years and it
gave her the opportunity
to travel the world. Shereen prides herself on developing an innovative and inspiring curriculum for the children in her care; giving each child the opportunity to flourish and shine. In her spare time she enjoys making the most of the outdoor lifestyle here in Eastbourne by hiking, running and paddle boarding. She also enjoys reading and exploring new places whenever possible.
FIONA STARR
Fiona joined us in September 2019. She completed her degree inTextile Design at
the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham which then led her to the world of media,TV and corporate events
as a freelance interior stylist. She began her teaching career 10 years
ago and has worked both in the state and private sector. Fiona is passionate about Art and being able to make it accessible and enjoyable to all pupils believing that everyone is an artist and should have the opportunity to develop their self-expression however possible.When not teaching, Fiona enjoys painting, print making and sewing and connecting with other likeminded artists. She also enjoys travelling and trekking various terrains around the world and cooking Asian cuisine with her husband and looking after their pets Woody and Wilma.
