FAREWELL
THE GAPPIES
GRAEME ANDERSON
Graeme leaves us after
three years as Deputy Head Pastoral... three very busy years during which his widely recognised enthusiasm, humour, positivity and compassion have forged a more dynamic and consistent approach to pastoral care across the school. His
leadership of the welfare management team, his review of the rewards and sanctions system, and his steadfast belief in treating pupils as individuals have left a positive mark on the school and created a foundation upon which we can build further in the coming years.
ELAINE ROBINSON
Elaine has stepped down
from her dance teaching commitments after 22 years. She has had the children’s best interests at the heart of her teaching - whether it be tapping toes with the Nursery, ballet basics with the Pre-Prep and Juniors, or pirouettes and pointe work with the Seniors.
We are very grateful that she has built up the dance at the school which is highly popular with a variety of styles to suit all interests and levels.
JANIS TUTT
Janis joined St Andrew’s
in June 2009. Running the
school shop, she is the
definition of organised.
With her sharp mind and
powers of observation,
she knew everything that
was going on. In retirement
she is looking forward to
spending time with her sons
and grandsons to visiting
museums, theatres and Dubai and undertaking quite a lot of work for the WI.
Our Gappie team helps out in areas across the school: from the boarding house to Nursery and coaching sport to giving assistance in music lessons. They are an invaluable cog in the school machine. Sadly, three of our gappies, Arabella, Patrick and Luca decided to head home towards the end of their first term as lockdown approached, but Karthik, Nicola and Charlotte remained and helped out in the school which remained open to the children of key worker parents during lockdown. With restrictions still in place over the summer holidays, the remaining three also departed but all of them made a valuable contribution while they were with us.
