evening from Hollywood’s wild scene in a famous nightclub.

Upon her dramatic departure from Gom Bing Village at the age 5 to America, and her
last heart-wrenching embrace with her cherished, beloved Grandmother, Sue and her
mother miraculously rendezvous with her real father in Los Angles in 1955 as she
arrives in skid row where the Wong family has to experience poverty and racism. It is
here that she overcame the American immigrant struggle, kept her focus on
accomplishing the American Dream as a young and talented designer at the peak of
the late 1960s and early 1970s counterculture days in Venice, California.

Eventually, Sue became a successful designer and fulfills her vision in experiencing
the most dynamic era in American cultural history. Through this era, she faces the
perils of exploring and pursuing true love all the way to Amsterdam and Madrid as
young woman. During her early 20s, she is forced to come to grips with love’s painful
failures, exhilarating triumphs and brutal betrayal. On top of this is the indelible damage
of her abusive father and having to deal and support her troubled younger brother
Kenny Wong. Yet her inner strength and determination sets the stage for her to
become an ever strong woman of immense conviction well beyond her years (early to
late 20s); and a most resilient Red Lotus she proves to be. This culminates with her
younger brother’s Kenny’s tragic, shocking murder, and the subsequent poignant
moment of forgiveness and reconciliation with her father.

Much of the film focuses on the culture, music center of of the West (LA, New York,
Europe) in the late 1960s and in to the 1970s, giving focus to the lifestyles of the
counterculture youth scene in Venice and in Hollywood.

This is a profound and remarkable story of transformation; of one young girl’s timeless
story; of how one can rise above all obstacles to fulfill one’s highest dreams and
aspirations, becoming an universal role model along the way, and becoming a beacon
of hope for all young girls and women globally.
