Unwind in free-form elegance
There’s no better way to melt the stress away than in a Scandinavian inspired outdoor spa – especially when it’s built to blend into Muskoka’s natural climate and feel like a natural hot spring. While hot tubs
and pools have traditionally been built to stand out, using concrete to create free-form designs is opening doors for
Ontario’s leading pool and spa designers to create
Muskoka-inspired features that are both refreshing to look at and relax in.
Blue Diamond Pools and Landscaping, one of the
only concrete pool and spa designers north of the GTA, has created many of these Muskoka-inspired masterpieces, finished with natural stone and granite to blend into rock faces, flagstone landscaping and more.
“Concrete gives us the freedom to create a pool or hot tub
of any size or
shape to blend into your current landscape,” says Mark Nunn, who co-owns Blue Diamond Pools and Landscaping with business partner Chase Mariano. But concrete isn’t
the only secret to creating beautifully landscaped pools and spas. Each piece draws on the landscape’s natural beauty, along with Mark and Chase’s creativity, depth of experience and knowledge of the latest products and tools.
Recently, Mark and Chase designed a hot tub to match a home’s granite patio and masonry. “We used the same
mortared granite on the exterior of the tub, and tile
on the inside for a smooth, comfortable seating area,”
says Chase. “The top of the hot tub also acts
as a tabletop for drinks and a bench for those who want to dip their toes in while sitting on the side.”
Before those stones and tiles were added, the Blue Diamond team installed hydrotherapy jets and an automated system that allows users to adjust
the heat level, lighting and audio systems, and balance their water chemicals from anywhere in the world through their smart phone.
To avoid heat loss, the team used spray foam to insulate the hot tub and maximize its efficiency.
“It’s as efficient as it can be, using today’s highest caliber of technology,” says Mark.
In addition to creating custom pool and spa
designs, Blue Diamond also specializes in repairing and restoring tired and aging pools by adding new natural coping stones, water line tiles and new plaster, while
also offering full leak detection services.
Blue Diamond Pools and Landscaping has very few spots still available for 2018 and are already heavily booking for 2019.
“Now’s the perfect time to start planning for next summer,” says Chase. “We’ll work with your needs to create a one-of-a-kind design.” DS
