Window films provide comfortable UV solution
“The installation is not intrusive to your time at
the cottage,” says Ryan. “We can have the film installed while you wait
or are out for a boat ride.”
Specializing in residential and commercial window film solutions, Ontario Pro Tint has a large selection of films to choose from. Security, privacy, heat and frosted films are also available, ranging in density from light to dark.
Security Films are designed to deter thieves from entering through smashed windows. Depending on
the thickness of the films, they can delay window entry up to 20 minutes. Lighter security films are used for safety during heavy wind storms and other destructive impacts. Privacy films are on the darker end of the visible spectrum.
“Frosted films are a beautiful decorative addition to windows, front doors or even walk-in showers,” says Ryan. “You don’t have to choose just one type of window film for your cottage. Mix and match to get the style and performance you desire.” DS

The gentleman returned to his cottage and noticed his prized cherry red grand piano was no longer the vibrant colour he remembered. After sitting by the large
bay window for a few years, the UV rays had caused extreme fading to the $20,000 instrument. Investigating further, he lifted the main living room area rug to find his stained oak floors had also begun to fade.
The owner called Ryan Maksymiw of Ontario Pro Tint for his expertise. Ryan introduced his top- of-the-line solar films for
the solution. The films provide 99 per cent UVA and UVB protection – with an equivalent to 285 SPF –and the owner now has peace-of- mind knowing his treasured possessions and cottage interior are protected.
Made with a variety of precious metals – including gold and silver – the solar films are created to be on the lighter side of the spectrum to give all the protection of opaque tints without being too dark.
“Plus, they won’t obstruct the view,” says Ryan, who has 15-years of experience in
the business – the last eight as an entrepreneur. “Most are completely see-through: you’ll barely notice they’re there. You’re spending a great deal of time and money at the cottage; you should
at least be able the enjoy it comfortably.”
The solar films come with a 10- to 12-year warranty, but Ryan says they’ll maintain their integrity well beyond that. They can be a cost- friendly alternative or used
as part of a complete window system. Qualified professionals like Ontario Pro Tint can have your large bay windows – and more – ready in half a day.
