The annual St. Clair River
“Float Down” is held
the 3rd Sunday each August
from Port Huron to Marysville
Although not a sanctioned event – float freighter traffic... and to keep an
at your own risk - thank you to at least 55 U.S. eye on the 5000 floaters & pad-
dlers.

Tip! Start by 3 p.m. or have
an early exit plan. It can take
up to 2 hours from entry point of
Lighthouse Beach north of the
Blue Water Bridge to reach the
Black River in Port Huron.
If you haven’t passed the Black
River by 5:30 p.m., you’ll be forced to get out of the water
there so the St. Clair River can be reopened on time to boat
and shipping traffic.

some good laughs for a few hours watching the floaters.
