Align yourself with God
April
Search the Bible for “the Holy Spirit within us,” and many verses appear, such as
“God dwelleth in us” (1 John 4:12-13). Yet most Christians think of a God up in the sky
rather than a God within. We think of a distant God, not one within reach.
For the past three months, I escaped Maryland’s 80+ inches of snow and visited a
spiritual center in Florida. The classes I attended have been rich and insightful about our
total, close connection to God. This divine intelligence always supports us with love.
Every one of us is a divine creation of this infinite intelligence.
We have a built in indicator. We know we are connected to God when we feel good.
When we feel bad, we have a disconnect. Worry and fear are disconnects, a lack of faith
in God.
Our prayers are answered when we think positively, believe and expect good health,
wealth and creativity. Our experiences are a product of our thinking, whether positive or
negative. Henry Ford got it right when he said, “If you think you can do it, or you think
you can’t do it, you are right.”
As we replace worry and fear with positive and optimistic thoughts of love, our lives
benefit immediately. With practice, we see positive changes in the conditions of your
lives. “Change your thinking, change your life!” says author Dr. Wayne Dyer. “What the
mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve!”
God in you is perfect. God expands through you. The God within empowers you.
God is glorified through what you create. When you connect to your inner teacher, you
discover your innate strength, power and courage.
Your emotions are a gauge to test whether you are connected to God. Allow God to
work through you. When you feel bad, you’re resisting God. When you envision
everything being well and learn to think positively in every situation, you align with God.
Trust and believe that all is well. “Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not
reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit” (1 Thessalonians 4:8).
Use this gauge as you make choices in life. Let go and let God. When you feel
enthusiasm, passion, hope and have good intentions and ideas for improvement, God is
calling you. Bad feelings are resistance to this powerful call. You are resisting God. You
are disallowing. Instead, feel the love and joy of God.
This is a mental process, not an action process. Align your thoughts with God’s
thoughts; allow God’s flowing current to carry you. Realize who you are. Feel the
fulfillment of all you desire. Feel your well-being. Be poised to act. Keep up with who
you have become. You are constantly urged to become more. Feel the eagerness of life,
the clarity of mind and the vitality of body, as you keep up with the God within. Feel the
expanding you. You are blessed.
