Love In Isolation Better Days Ahead
I remember a time, way back when, by Skew Wiff
Together alone, we treasured then
Our honeymoon, fifty-three years ago; ‘There’s better days ahead”
Lost in each other, no-one to know. Said the Prophets years ago,
Fast forward to now, it is twenty-twenty; When the Pyramids were Pebbles -
New laws in place, of which there are plenty: And progress mighty slow.
Disinfect, isolate, together, apart; “There’s better days ahead”
A world stopped in its tracks - when will it restart? Said the Sailor Francis Drake,
I look in his eyes and my heart skips a beat “We will beat the Great Armada
Reminding me of when first we did meet. If the Lookout stays awake”.
So, we are taking these days, as our world does renew, You can see that right thru History
To consider the riches of a love which just grew Whenever there’s a Fight,
From a spark to a flame and a warm, glowing ember - By looking on the bright side
The blessing now is we both still remember. Everything will turn out Right.
Today we have that ‘Virus’,
Marion Jordan, April 2020 And a Battle to be won,
Contributed by Elaine Delaney The Night is dark and fearsome
As we run from everyone.
But don’t give up, don’t run away
And hide beneath your Bed,
For we will win this battle,
And there’s “ Better Days ahead”.
In my travels around the country I come across people and places
that are just inspiring for whatever reason. “Koroit Victoria” was
one such place – and I remember, the lead-up to the “St Patrick’s
day” celebration was one thing that generated a bit of excitement
in the town at the time. It stood to reason I guess that I should use
ODIUM to a VIRUS. “Paddy’s” day as a theme to build the song on.
