Since 1957, the YMCA of the Suncoast has focused on strengthening the community. Through our programs that respond to critical social needs, we strive to positively impact the lives of children, adults and families – inspiring them to thrive.
At the time of publication, we are all being impacted by COVID-19. However, as you browse our impact and successes in 2019, know that those efforts did not stop in 2020 through COVID. In fact, the YMCA
of the Suncoast responded quickly to the critical community needs and found innovative ways to use our resources to offer solutions to help our neighbors. We are very proud of the Y staff for their quick mobilization in order to serve the community needs.
As a top-rated 4-star charity, our cause at the Y is to strengthen the foundations of the community. Through our programs, we nurture the potential of children and teens, promote healthy living and foster a sense of social responsibility. The Y provides a place for people – regardless of age, income or background – to be healthier, more confident, connected and secure.
From life-saving swim lessons and quality out-of-school programming to values-based youth sports and engaging healthy activities for the entire family, the Y’s programs and initiatives stay true to our mission to put Christian Principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
This annual report captures how the YMCA of the Suncoast strengthened our community in 2019, focusing on these top strategic priorities:
