Keys
There are 12 possible keys any particular song can be played in. This
is because of the 12 notes on the piano keyboard, A, A#/Bb, B, C,
C#/Db, D, D#/Eb, E, F, F#/Gb, G, and G#/Ab.
Over the next few pages, you’ll learn from your tutor what keys are
and you’ll find out some of the chords that you have learned already
form a particular key. Fill these chord charts in as you learn.
Watch out for the various keys:
A#! as these are called theoretical keys.
Ask your tutor - it does get rather complicated
and the explanation is for advanced players!
Your tutor just may want you to learn the chords and be
playing and enjoying the guitar.
So, don’t worry about it too much!
