High pressure will bring generally light winds and dry conditions to the region today, along with pleasant temperatures. Highs will range from the upper 60s east to the upper 70s west, although these readings are still a bit below normal. Warmer temperatures will move in on Tuesday, along with increasing southerly winds. Winds will become rather gusty by afternoon as temperatures rise into the 80s for most areas. Central South Dakota will peak around 90 degrees on Tuesday. Potential exists for strong to severe storms by Tuesday evening and overnight as a cold front moves through the region.
