The Life of Lucille Jensen
Services for Lucille Jensen, 87, of Ab- erdeen were held Saturday, February 3 at Landmark Gospel Church, 1302 8th Ave NE, Aberdeen. Pastor Scott Drexel of ciated. Burial followed in Union Cem- etery, Groton.
Lucille passed away Wednesday, Janu- ary 31, 2018 at Sanford Aberdeen Medi- cal Center, after a short illness.
Lucille June was born on November
6, 1930 in Putney to George Jensen and Leona Alberts. She attended Putney School and grew up in the Putney area. LucyandhermothermovedtoAberdeenin1969whereshe was employed at the former Holiday Inn for several years. Afterretiring,shevolunteeredhelpingattheSalvationArmy.
LucillewasamemberoftheFirstPentecostalChurchwhere she especially enjoyed the Sunday School and the children. Celebratingherlifeareheraunts,MavisKirschmannofAb- erdeen,ArlissAlbertsofAberdeen,EuniceAlbertsofGroton
and her uncle, George (Doris) Alberts of Groton. Precedingherindeathwashermother,Leona,hergrand- parents,AlmaandGeorgeAlberts,Sr.,Uncles,Jesse(Mel- rose) Alberts, Clarence (Meda) Alberts, Raymond Alberts, Kenneth Alberts, her aunt, Lusena (Stewart) Manning and cousins, Sondra Larson, David Manning and Jerry Manning. Casketbearers were Ka Alberts, Karl Alberts, Roy Grottke,
Kevin Phillips and Larry Manning.
The Life of Joy Stiklesdtad
Memorial services for Joy Stiklestad, 68, of Claremont will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 8th at Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton. Pastor Sara Sorenson will of ciate. Burial will take place a later date.
Visitation will be held at the chapel for one hour prior to services on Thursday.
Joy passed away February 3, 2018 at Avera St. Lukes's Hospital, Aberdeen.
Joy Linn was born on December 22, 1949 in Britton to Arthur and Faith (Koch) Grupe. She attended school in Britton. On March 12, 1968, she was united in marriagewithLarryStiklestadatthePresbyterianChurchin Groton. Together, they had two sons. When the boys were older,JoybegancookingattheCozyCaféinGrotonandlater attheRedHorse. ShealsodrovebusfortheBristolSchool for many years. Joy went through seven years of kidney dialysis,beforereceivingatransplantin2014. Herfamilyis
forevergratefulfortheextrayearstheyhadwithJoy.
Joy was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Groton. Sheenjoyedoutdooractivitiesofallkinds,including, shing, camping,gardening, owersanddrivestouringthecountry- side. She also like playing cards, word nds and entertaining friends with home cooked meals. Joy lived for her grand- children and cherished the time spent with them. She also cared deeply for her dialysis family, often baking treats to share with the group. She made many lasting friendships
during those seven years.
Celebrating her life is her husband of 49 years, Larry of
Claremont, her sons, Michael (Kristi) Stiklestad of Pierpont and Lanny Stiklestad of Bowdle, her grandchildren: Lance Stiklestad, Heidi Stiklestad, Ryan Stiklestad and Mikayla Bon- net and her rst great-granddaughter to be born in April. She is also survived by two brothers, Doug Grupe of Web- ster, Ed Grupe of Kansas, two brother-in-laws, Rick (Julie) Stiklestad of Minneota, Minnesota, Cliff (Lois) Stiklestad of Castlewood, her sister, Cytha Grupe of Britton, her sister- in-law, Tammie (Jeff) Higgins of Milan, Minnesota and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her in-laws, one sister, Patty Jones, two sister-in-laws, Pam Sticklestad and Linda Klemensen and brother-in-law, Butch Sticklestad.
Honorary Urn Bearers will be her grandchildren.

Under the Department of Transportation Capital Assistance Grant
Programs and/or Special Transportation, Groton Community Tran- sit, Inc. presents the intent to purchase a handicap vehicle. The proposed vehicle, a bus with a lift, will help expand the services for transportation for the general public and special transportation for elderly persons and/or person's with disabilities.
This notice offers the opportunity to comment on this proposal or to make a proposal that would provide the necessary service by sending a written notice to Groton Community Transit, Inc., Box 693, Groton SD, 57445. Written notice should be mailed no later than thirty (30) days following the publication of this notice.
